Canning Bridge Activity Centre Plan

Planning beyond Century 21

The Canning Bridge Activity Centre Plan (CBACP) is an important near-city renewal project incorporating parts of Como, Applecross, Mt Pleasant, Manning and South Manning.

The plan has been developed and adopted by state and local government agencies including the Western Australian Planning Commission, Department of Planning, Cities of Melville and South Perth, Department of Transport, Public Transport Authority and Main Roads WA to progress long term planning for the Canning Bridge Activity Centre Plan area.

The plan area comprises five precincts – a transport hub on the north side of Canning Bridge in Como and four precincts incorporating a mix of residential, civic, office, retail and entertainment uses against the backdrop of the Swan and Canning Rivers and the adjacent open space.

The plan envisages about 24,000 residents in 12,000 dwellings calling the area home while nearly 8,000 people are expected to be employed in the area by 2051.
